2 year old gpig w/ possible murmur

My 2 year old teddie/sheltie mix Gungnir went to the vet today for his annual exam. The vet heard an 'extra heart noise', and expressed concern over him possibly developing a murmur in the next few months. She told me to keep an eye on his activity levels as well. I've had 2 senior pigs with CHF, but never had a young pig with a murmur. I know dogs and cats can live with murmurs just fine. Is it the same for pigs? Does anyone have tips on what to watch for? It is very frustrating and disheartening because he is my third guinea pig who will have heart issues. Luckily this time around I have pet insurance and have more experience should something happen.

I’m not sure how much of an impact they have in piggies. I’m sure our experienced members will advise

We have had many horses with murmurs, some continuing to compete at high levels despite them. So I do hope it’s the case in piggies, and that he can continue to live a normal life
