So I know that young guniea pigs need to be warm - the question is, how warm? What is too much and too little? The heating in my house is pretty bad, sits at around 60 degrees F. Right now I have a space heater and am trying to regulate the temp in my room to about 75 degrees F. Any help is appreciated!

P.s. I read that 1/4 cup a day of pellets + unlimited hay + assorted veggies is good enough for two 2 month old piggies. Is this right?

My guineas room is around 65 degrees. They seem fine. I use fleece bedding and that's kinda warm too :)
Does your piggie have a friend? What cage are you using?
Ps. I would also recommend only feeding piggies a 1/8 cup of pellets a day.

Hope I could help!

Unlimited hay, unlimited water, around a cup or so veg and only a tablespoon of pellets per piggy per day. The more hay your piggies have, the healthier they will be. Have a look at Diet Guides under guinea pig guides at the top of the page or if you are in a mobile it's the 3 lines top left. Can't link it in in this device.

Welcome.
If your piggies are indoor piggies and live in the same room temperature as humans, that should be fine for them. Whatever is comfortable for humans should be comfortable for piggies.

Mine are also indoor piggies and I live in Michigan. Temperature in my house is always constant from the central heating and cooling system.

Hi and welcome

Guinea pigs are happiest in the same temperature range as we humans. If you are hot, your piggy will already be overheating. if you need a thick pullover or a coat, your piggy will be cold, too. Guinea pigs will adapt to slightly colder or hotter climes as long as the temperatures don't fluctuate massively.

Please take the time to read these guides here; you will find the tips very useful:

These guides and more really useful ones are all part for our new owners guide collection, which addresses specifically all the areas we get the most questions and concerns about from new owners, from settling in and making friends with your piggies, understanding their behaviour, safe and unsafe toys and cage accessories, diet, housing and care to learning what is normal and what now and how to spot illness early on.
Getting Started - New Owners' Most Helpful Guides

Please start saving up for a vet fund right from the start as part of their normal living cost. Vet care is making the largest budget post in any pet's life. Illness and emergencies never happen at a convenient time, but small animals like guinea pigs can't wait for ages. They do live in good care for 5-7 years, though.

except with fleece bedding. where I live my guinea pig room will sometimes get to 60 degrees.

Thanks for the help guys! I do have one more concern: one of my girls, snowball, is out and about exploring while my other girl, Ash, has stayed inside her hut for the past two days. I have also noticed her making short sharp squeaks. Should I just give her more time to adapt or is something wrong?

My Finn and Lara get 3 meals of veggies a day along with herbs and some fruits as treats.
And, I recently changed to Oxbow Timothy hay, stocked up with 17kg of Oxbow hay.

Lara's complaining sounds like sharp squeaks. But, I find Lara complaining less after changing to Oxbow hay and is always given in her hay tray. It is when something is out of line a bit, you can hear Lara complaining with sharp squeaks. Finn kind of goes with the flow.
I haven't heard any complaints from neither Finn or Lara since the change to Oxbow hay.

17kg of Oxbow Timothy hay and left over Kaytee hay, 2 bags but won't buy anymore. The bags are 2.55kg each and I have 7 bags.
