So I have 2 guinea pigs, Molly and Hunny. They have lived together for a good year and a half and we generally have no issues with them.

But the last couple of days Molly is continuously "rumbling" at Hunny, walking (well more like stalking/slithering) around waggling her bum. This isn't unusual behaviour for Molly who does sometimes tend to be a bit of a moody pig. But to add to this she has been coming up behind Hunny and getting on her (as if she is going to hump her) but then just kinda pushes down on Hunny's back (possibly biting i'm not sure) then she'll stalk off rumbling.

Again she has done this before but its become very frequent in the last few days and Hunny is getting increasingly agitated by the behaviour to the extent that I've now put Molly in the top section of their cage and Hunny in the bottom and taken away the means of getting to and from so they are separate from each other. Every time I test to see if they will behave as soon as Molly gets near Hunny the rumbling starts again.

Question is: have they suddenly fallen out and I now need to home them separately or is Molly just having a moody couple of days and they will be fine again soon?
They normally get on very well, and they follow each other everywhere when I let them out on run arounds, they really don't like being apart and when they are scared they'll cuddle up together. They've also been known to groom each other -.-

What you describe as happening occasionally is dominance behaviour that is usually connected to a sow being in season (rumblestrutting and mounting/humping).

However, if this behaviour becomes constant, I would have your sow checked for hormonal problems and/or ovarian cysts, especially if she becomes quite aggressive over it.

PS: Could you please post in a darker colour and bigger font. Sorry, I am struggling to read your post.
