Junior Guinea Pig
My boys both turned 1 this month Zuko on the 8th July & Pabu on the 27th.
These two were born at a rescue after their mothers came in pregnant, Pabu's mother was a baby herself at 2 months old! Both females gave birth to 3 pups each! Zuko was in a litter of all boars. And Pabu was a solo male with two sisters, naturally everybody was paired off Zuko and Pabu coming together as the odd ones from each litter. I began with fostering them both as a pair from the ages of 16weeks and 14weeks (Of course they were separated by 3 weeks from mothers and sisters) At the rescue they were having a bit of boys falling out, so due to space they came to me as Tommy & Finn, who I got to the age of neutering did all the after care, and I couldn't send them back. Plus Pabu and I are birthday buddies! We have birthdays a day apart. He also needed such special attention after the neuter, he was very frantic unless he was being held and his frantic behavior stressed out Zuko so I would sit for hours holding Pabu, he'd fall asleep on me and since then we are very close. There was no way.
So I foster failed and adopted them.
Of course shortly after the boys recovered from their neuter they fell out. Leading to separation...but I didn't want to send either back to rescue, so I kept them both, eventually waiting out the neuter safe period and adopting some girlies, who unfortunately we do not know the birthdays of, so gotcha day it is for those ladies.
I just wanted to do a little photo dump of how we celebrated.
Wishing the happiest of birthdays to my wonderful boys. Thank you for helping me heal and learn to accept the trauma I had from the loss of my last piggie.
You're 1!

With the girls too.
They grew so much.
