So far in my first month of piggie ownership, I have seen diarrhea, and mites in Daisy, and surgery to fix broken leg for Maisie. Just when I think I'm on the home straight, Poppy the only one I thought was really healthy gives me cause for concern.
At this weeks weigh in Poppy has lost 10g in 8 days, she seems to be eating, drinking, pooing and behaving normally, but I'm worried. Should I be?
Here is how my records look:

Date 23 Feb 2 Mar 8 Mar 10 Mar

Poppy 534g 579g 575g 569g

Daisy 492g 524g 551g 559g

Maisie 359g n/a 404g 424g

Daisy had an ivermectin injection and her and Maisie both had 5 days of Baytril, I'm wondering is Poppy suffering from something that the meds has indirectly cleared up in the other two?
Opinions and advice would be very welcome :)

10g is a very small amount, I would not be too worried about that. I would just keep an eye on her as your piggies are all still growing. It's a great sign that you're weighing all your piggies regularly though, if you keep that up you can't go far wrong!
I know they are all only small piggies (guessing they are quite young? They haven't yet reached their full adult weight so it is almost expected that there would be a little fluctuation), but 10g is still nothing major to be concerned about. May I enquire as to their diet? Perhaps your other pigs are eating a bit more than she is.

Hi SapphireDreams, after every thing I'm probably getting a bit neurotic with my piggies, but I think they've given me good reason rolleyes

I can only guess at their ages. If they were 8/10 weeks when they were bought from Pets at Home at Xmas, and I got them from the already feed up with them purchaser:x on Valentines Day, to my math that makes them at most 5 months old.
Their diet is unlimited Burgges forage, which is timothy hay and something extra like they have three different kinds at the moment, marigold and dandelion, camomile, and birch bark. They get pellets from Pets at Home as that is what they were used to, but I have been slowly mixing in some Burggess blackcurrant and oregano pellets and a little Wagg muesli just for variety. Veggies tend to be whatever is on offer at the supermarket or green grocers, but the regulars are grass, romaine lettuce, peppers, broccoli, carrot, parsley, coriander, basil, mint, fennel, melon and apple. I tried them with cabbage and parsnip but got no takers.

Poppy would be my dominant one, so the only thing I can think is she is spending too much time rummblestrutting and missing out that way, but she has only got Daisy in with her at the moment, as Maisie has to be kept isolated in a small space until her bone is mended, unless this has caused her upset?

It sounds like you know exactly what you're doing then, and I completely understand your worry! Just when you think it's over there's usually something else lol.
That's a fabulous diet you have them on, I would not be worried at all :) They're growing piggies, and as long as it's steadily increasing your little princesses will be just fine :)) I know ages is a tricky thing to speculate on, but if they're only a few months old you're doing the absolute right thing in regular weigh-ins :)

It's possible that she is missing her, I know my girl lost a little weight after her hutch-mate died, but she settled back into it well after a few days. As long as she is still eating and drinking plenty, I would just monitor her.

10g can be anything from the difference of a full and empty bladder sometimes, still growing pigs will occationally go up and down in wieght, please try not to worry. You are doing just great with them.

Poppy Update

Normal service seams to have been resumed :) This week Poppy has put on 47g, she is now 626g, and since Daisy got her mite problem sorted she is catching up with Poppy, she has gained 49g this week, and now weighs 608g, Even Maisie with all she's been through has gained 33g, and is now weighing in at 457g. Over all I'm feeling a bit better about the girls prospects :)

That's good news. Glad they're all putting weight on and doing well. Generally a loss of over 50g a week or a continuous loss of less over several weeks is when you should start getting suspicious that there's something going on.

Glad to hear it sweetie! Hoping to see pigtures of the gorgeous Daisy, Maisie and Poppy soon now that they're all getting better! :))
