hi, I'm rescuing 2 Guinea pigs next week and I'm going to put them in a separate cage to the others for about 5 months before all the neutering and everything else. I can get a 100cm cage for £40 and a 120cm cage for £60. Is it worth the extra £20 ?

If you are in the UK, you can get a ferplast 120 for £45 or a skyline maxi for £30 from zooplus. The ferpast is the better quality and more easy to get in and out of for piggy pick-up and cleaning.
Ferplast Rabbit & Guinea Pig Cage 120 | Free P&P £29+ at zooplus!

Have a look at this link here with a 100 and 120 cm next to each other to see what difference it makes: Cage Size Guide

I would get the big one so they have room to move. They want to feel comfortable.

You'd be surpised what a difference that extra 20cm makes :) Definitely go for a bigger one.
You may get lucky on a site like Preloved and be able to pick up a cage of that size locally for very little.
In addition to Wiebke's recommendations the Little Friends 120cm cage Rabbit 120 x59x50cm LARGE Indoor Rabbit & Guinea Pig Cage is only £35 and it's a really sturdy quality made cage. I have one of those and can vouch for it :)
