It's been a long 2 weeks of antibiotics for Pigeon, and after her checkup this morning to check on her tooth that broke, it was found to be infected and needs to be removed.

The vet said guinea pigs can live normal long lives even with 1 incisor missing, but I'm still a bit upset about it 🙁 Does anyone else have pigs without all of their front incisors? Are your piggies doing well and happy? 🙂 I'm sure Pigeon will be fine as I really do trust this vet, though is there anything I need to change to do for her? Make her vegetables smaller?

That depends very much on how good she will be able to cope with one incisor missing. Some piggies carry on eating without any problems.
But you probably need to have a close eye on the opposite tooth if it's growing too long without its counterpart.
Maybe Pigeon will need help eating veggies and you've got to serve them as veggy stripes

I had a piggy with a tooth root abscess. Once that was cleared up he lost the tooth. It was a front incisor. He managed absolutely fantastic with three. I did cut his pepper and cucumber into slices instead of chunks. But he was completely normal with three incisors.

Good luck. 🤞🏻

We had a sow who had no lower incisors & required her upper incisors to be removed. She lived a full and happy life with no incisors. We did have to assist her with feeding veggies in strips to help get pick them up. Her name was Melody.

Thank you, this certainly eases some anxiety I have about it. 🙂
