Hi there, we got our three guinea pigs from a local rescue in December. We have one male and two females (the male is neutered). They had been at the rescue for a while and were bonded there.
They do not fight or seem to display any aggressive tendencies towards each other but I have noticed that one of the females seems to be more distant/separate from the other two.
This is the most noticable in terms of the other two seem to be happy snuggled up in their bedding area whereas the more separate female seems to sit more by/just outside the entrance of the bedding area or in the run she'll sit in the tunnel while the other two tend to stay together in their hideaway.
She is also the first one to come forward when we arrive to see what offerings we have and she doesn't seem unhappy but I am no guinea pig expert and wondered if this was a sign that perhaps she isn't bonded well with the other two? Or maybe she's just a more bold/independent spirit?
Any ideas/comments? Is this a problem? My main worry is that she may not be as happy as the other two, also on these colder nights (although they are housed indoors in our garage) I worry she's not snuggled up with the others so much. I may well be worrying over nothing! Would appreciate any advice!
Thanks!
