shredded paper bedding

So I live in the us and it's winter where I am looking at bedding types and I bought straw bedding and have an abundance of blank white printer paper that I can shred up and want to know if it's safe

Hi all, I came home with big bags of shredded paper that was about to be garbage. It has light coloured ink on it and is shredded into fine bits. I need to know if this is safe and effective to use as a bedding only in the kitchen and pigloo area. Thanks :)
